Northern Saw-Whet Owl Delta B.C.

Delta!!!!!!!!

My parents and I went on a day trip to Delta B.C.. At our first stop we saw lots of cool birds, all of which I'd already seen this year until we spotted a Northern Saw-whet Owl and a Great Horned. At our second destination we saw six Short-eared Owls, an American Bittern and a few Western Meadowlarks all of which are new birds for me.

Costa Rica and Nicaragua 2015

My parents and I went to Central America last winter and although I was not as obsessed with birds back then, I was still amazed by the birds we saw!(My parents and I took these photos!)

White-throated magpie-jay

Great Egret
Green Heron

Black-Crowned Night-Heron
Little Blue Heron
Purple Gallinule
Collared aracari
Keel Billed Toucan
Resplendent Quetzal
Emerald Toucanet
Blue-Crowned Motmot

Male American Kesrtel

I nearly caused a car crash by screaming "stop the car!"when I saw an American Kestrel on a power line. There turned out to be a pair of these amazing birds (one male and one female)! So I rushed home and painted this little guy!

Female Ring-necked Pheasant

My parents and I saw pheasants last month. We saw both male and female.
However  I feel quite sorry for the females because the males are all everyone cares about, so I painted one in tribute.

Male Hooded Merganser (Breeding)

The hooded merganser is one of my favorite ducks even though it is extremely common here on the coast. I painted this duck with one of my best friends (Toby) who also has a blog called  (Birdy McBirdface).
